Early this morning, just a couple hours before the deadline, I submitted two entries to the theme contest that we (Telligent) have been sponsoring over the past couple of months.
One of them, called Pretty in Pink, is a simple "Track 1" style entry (dynamic configuration variation of Lean and Green). As the name suggests, it's pink-ish. I figured it was an "untapped space", so I put on my turtleneck and beret, opened up my laptop (don't have a MacBook...yet :P) and did a little last minute design. (You'll be happy to know that I didn't include my hokey flower icons. Had I done so, it would have had more yellow and been a Flower Power theme.)
The other one, Big Avatar, is a simple blog theme. While this was not a "valid" format for the public contest, Telligenti were able to submit pretty much anything. I call it a simple blog theme because there's no menu, no sidebar and no tags. Once I finally upgrade my site, I'll be using it as my blog theme and you'll be able to see my twitter updates inline.
I got a chance to quickly run thru some of the public entries and some other co-workers entries and I think folks will be pleased with some of the new themes that will be available. We're wrapping up the UI that we'll be using to host these themes for browsing, downloading, and perhaps most importantly for some...voting. Look for it soon.
Here's a couple screenshots (click for the larger version) of Pretty in Pink and Big Avatar. Enjoy!
