Last week I decided to pick up a new electric guitar. I've played piano since I was younger, but I've alway had an itch to play the guitar. I decided it's never ever to late to learn something, so I decided it was time to get equiped with a new guitar.
I did quite a bit of research on beginner guitars and everyone highly recommended a Squire (Fender) Bullet. Squire is part of Fender and they are made in China. This is one heck of a guitar for $99. I couldn't be happier. Once setup properly this guitar can really play nicely.
The next step was to figure out lessons. I currently take piano lessons once a week and they are very valuable to me. My first thought was to also sign up for some guitar lessons. After doing some research on all my options, I decided to go with a DVD lesson course Learn & Master Guitar with Steve Krenz. Since I'm a complete beginner I figured I could at least get something out of this course before needing to start one-on-one guitar lessons.
Learn & Master Guitar with Steve Krenz came highly recommended in all the forums I visit so I bit the bullet and paid the $200 for the course. $200 may seem like a lot of money, and I wont lie my mouse hovered over the buy button, but if you add up what a years worth of lessons would cost this is one heck of a deal. This course is really really good! I couldn't be happier. One of the things that makes this a great course is the community forums on the the LMG website. This community is very active with Steve himself answering a lot of questions.
I won't go into a full review on this product as there are numerous glowing reviews already out there. All I can say is that these reviews seem to be correct. Learn & Master Guitar is a top notch guitar instructional video course.
