  • WLW Good For Community Server, Great for LAMP

Kevin Brody mentioned their is a new version of Windows Live Writer . The following line really struck a cord with me: ...and excellent support for Wordpress, Typepad, and other engines. I learned of the new version a couple of months ago. Since that...
  • Google Analytics API

I have been spending a lot of time thinking and prototyping REST services lately. As Dare points out, Google has a very impressive stack already available. I was sending Jason an email about the Tattletale work his army is working on this summer and I...
  • Laws Of Simplicity

I just finished John Maeda's Laws of Simplicity . It was an excellent read. Similar to many of the other books I like, it is much more thought provoking that a how to guide. One of benefits to book is it provides you with a vocabulary in which to...
  • Welcome to Telligenti.com

Welcome to our new(est) blog site. We have been planning this site for quite a while, but since it was just for fun it always took a back seat.

Late last night we decided that we need to just get it launched and then pretty it up and organize it later. So in the short run, please pardon our mess. We will have a custom theme and some better organization in the coming weeks.

The Telligenti.com site will be used a central landing site for all blogging things related to Telligent. There will be some blogs which just mirror existing blogs and others that you can only find here. The site is a bit of an experiment. We have asked our employees to mindful that this a Telligent property, but at the same time we want them to be as open and honest as possible.

We have built a remarkable team over the last three years. I am hoping that by aggregating our blogs in one location we can build something very special that you will enjoy.

  • ESPN Football Blog

This is not ESPN's first blog, but it is the first time I remember seeing them display one so prominantly on the home page: HashMarks . It will be good to watch and see if they do anything interesting in this space. One thing I already noticed is...
  • Changing for Simplicity

Change is hard, especially in software. This of course is not news. Community Server has built in support for emailing forums users notifications of new post (and replies). Prior to the 2007 release we did not email users notifications to their own posts...
  • Link Worthy II

I am not sure how often I will do one of these posts, I guess once I save up 4 or 5 links I think you would be interested in. If you want to see them sooner, I tag them as LW on del.icio.us . I generally tag a lot more stuff than I list here. It makes...
  • NJTransit: How to make something simple harder

I do not get why you would ever publish something like this. Why not pre-select a day of the week for travel? If I need to change it, I can. Why is the reset button on the left? Why is there even a reset button? Is this form really so complicated complicated...
  • The Community Financial Guide

For most people, the direct dollar and cent measurement of building a community is a horrible way of gaging the financial benefits. Chris Garret , who is quickly becoming one of the premier voices of blogging, has a must read series on this topic. Indirect...
  • Please Touch Me

I am still working through some more ideas for my simple new blog theme (more on the theme soon). One thing I wanted to add to it now that most things have been removed are the "social sites" I currently participate in or would like to participate...
  • Pidgin

I gave the latest version of Pidgin a test drive today. I LOVE the tabbed UI. Working remotely, I can easily have 10+ Live Messenger windows up by the end of the day. I also like the ability to use GTalk and Messenger in the same client. However, there...
  • Expression Web

I have been working on a couple of new Community Server themes for our Theming Extravaganza Contest as well as new new simple theme for this blog. After chatting with Ben last week, he made me aware of how easy it is to use the new Visual Studio web projects...
  • Your Favorite WYSIWYG Editor

I am on the market for a new WYSIWYG editor. By far the most important feature is something that is super light weight (and yes, it does need to be WYSIWYG). So far, my personal favorite is the "pages" editor found in Google Groups. It does...
  • Link Worthy

I have been working on a new series of posts which is at least partly the reason for scarce content the last couple of weeks, Anyway, here are a couple of links that should be well worth your time to click through: World's Best Presentation Contest...
  • Are the Docs Helpful?

The Community Server Knowledge Base and Wiki were just updated with a nice "Helpful" or "Not Helpful" feature. If you have not used the either yet, please take a few minutes to look through them and let us know what you think about...
